MATHLEAGUE.ORG was founded in 1997 by the famous American mathematics educator MR. Tim Sanders, who is the former chairman of the famous American mathematics challenge ARML (American Regional Mathematics League). He once taught at Stanford University and served as a mentor for the Stanford Summer Education Program for Gifted Youth. Years of mathematics teaching and challenge coaching experience make Tim believe that mathematics challenges are the most important way to develop students' mathematical ability and interest. Tim hopes that students will experience the fun of mathematics from a younger age and help overcome the "fear" of mathematics. Therefore, he founded the math league. As the largest network of local and state math challenges at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in the United States and abroad, mathleague.org runs more than 400 contests globally and reaches over 30,000 students each year.
ASDAN China and Math League.org have reached an exclusive strategic cooperation to bring the Math League to China from 2019, providing Chinese students with an international math challenge platform and inspiring students to explore math enthusiasm.

Types:
- Number Sense Round: Individual round. 80 questions with 10 mins. 5 points for each correct answer. 4 point will be deducted for wrong answers and blank answers. Scoring starts from question 1 to the last question attempted. No calculators are allowed.
- Sprint Round: Individual round. 30 questions with 40 mins. 4 points for each correct answer. 1 point will be deducted for wrong answers and no point will be deducted for blank answers. No calculators are allowed.
- Target Round: Individual round. 4 sets of papers (each paper has 2 questions) with 24 mins. Each set of paper has 6 mins. One can only start the next set after 6 mins. 10 points for each correct answer. No point will be deducted for wrong answers and blank answers. Students may use any calculator allowed for use on the SAT.
- Team Round: Team round. 10 questions with 20 mins. 10 points for each correct answer. No point will be deducted for wrong answers and blank answers. Students may use any calculator allowed for use on the SAT.
Scoring System:
- Total personal score： Add the students' target round score, sprint round score and 1/4 of the number sense round score,as individual total score（target round score +sprint round score + the number sense round score *1/4= individual total score）,negative number sense round scores are considered zero. The highest individual score is 300（The full score of the target round is 80 points, the full score of the sprint round is 120 points, and the 1/4 of the number sense round is 100 points.）.
- Team score：First divide the total individual scores by 4 and add to the scores of team round to get the team's total score.The highest team total is 500 points.
- School score: Add 1/4 of the top 4 individual scores of the same school to the highest score of the team round to get the school score. The highest school score is 400 points(If the top 4 students have a full individual score,it will be 300 points. The maximum score for team round is 100 points).Ties are broken by team score (weighted by item analysis).
Regional Division：
- Eastern China: Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu
- Southern China: Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan, Hongkong, Macao, Taiwan
- Western China: Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Shanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Tibet, Ningxia, Xinjiang
- Northern China: Beijing, Tianjin, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shandong

- Total personal score： Add the student's sprint round score and twice the target round score,as individual total score（sprint round score + target round score *2=individual total score）.The highest individual score is 46（the total score of sprint round score is 30 points,the total score of target round score is 16 points）.
- Team score： First divide the total individual scores by 4 before adding twice the team's score and get the final team score. The highest team total score is 66 points.
- School score: Add 1/4 of the top 4 individual scores to the highest score of the team round to get the school score. The highest school score is 56 points.
Regional Division：

- Target Round： Individual round. 4 sets of papers (each paper has 2 questions). Each set of paper has 10 mins. One will only be given the next set after 10 mins. 10 points for each correct answer, 80 points in total. No point will be deducted for wrong answers and blank answers. Students may use any calculator allowed for use on the SAT.
- Relay Round：Team round. A relay consists of three questions, and each student will receive all three of these questions. The answer to question 1 is plugged in as TNYWR to question 2 in order to solve question 2. This answer is then plugged in as TNYWR to question 3 in order to solve question 3. A correct answer for question 1 is worth 2 points; a correct answer for question 2 is worth 3 points; and a correct answer for question 3 is worth 5 points. Thus each team can accumulate up to 10 points on each relay. 5 rounds with 50 points in total. No calculators are allowed.

- Total Relay score: Add 1/3 of each team member's individual score to twice the relay round score。The highest total relay score is 300 points.
- School score: Add the average score of the top 6 individual students to the highest score of the team score and the top 2 total relay score to get the school score. The highest school score is 400 points.

Each group (primary/middle/high school) will be awarded separately. Electronic certificates of the preliminary round will be issued.

If, for some reason, the student is unable to attend after paying the fee, please contact us. If you apply before the registration deadline, 25% of the registration fee will be deducted as academic materials and service fees. If you apply after the registration deadline, no refund will be given.
